What the detector is

The detector measures statistical patterns in a text and reports how pronounced they are. It does not determine who or what wrote a text, and its output must not be used as evidence of authorship, plagiarism or misconduct against any person. The guides explain why no tool can provide such evidence.

The guides are general information drawn from the published studies, policies and announcements cited on each page, with the date they were read. They are not legal, academic or professional advice. Policies change; check the current rule of your institution or employer.
